Advocacy Committee
Welcome to the Advocacy Committee page!
The advocacy committee is dedicated to working towards the elimination of health disparities faced by women, with a focus on period poverty. We currently fundraise for, and maintain 60 menstrual stations on OU's campus providing free period products for all staff, student, and faculty at OU. These were made possible by period product drives we initiated, as well as a grant from period. Our outreach expands throughout the state to provide free menstrual health products to unhoused individuals, incarcerated menstruators, Native communities, & middle and high school students.
In November 2021, we successfully raised $1,693 to donate 9,792 pads to the incarcerated menstruators at Mabel Basset and Eddie Warrior Correctional Centers! In 2022, we raised $2,208 to donate 28,380 pads and 900 bottles of shampoo/conditioner
