This year, in honor of the event taking place on International Women's Day, we are shining a spotlight on female leaders in the health sphere, both on campus and off. We are excited to celebrate and honor the incredible contributions of women who are making a difference in the field of healthcare.

This year's "Healthcare Heroines" theme will feature panel discussions from inspiring female leaders who are paving the way in the world of healthcare. From healthcare professionals to advocates for mental health, this event will showcase the diverse and powerful voices of women in the health and wellness domains.

Join us as we come together to support and uplift these remarkable women, and to celebrate the impact they are making in our community and beyond. The Menstrual Met Gala will serve as a platform for amplification, empowerment, and inspiration as we honor the achievements of these remarkable women. Parking enforcement concludes at 4:30 PM on Fridays. The nearest available parking options include the Headington Hall Parking Lot and the Jenkins Parking Garage. Please refrain from parking in reserved spots, fire lanes, and metered spaces.

OU COLLEGE OF MEDICINE STUDENT

Lauren Oliver is a dedicated OU medical student actively involved in advocating for reproductive health. She serves as a staff member of the Focus Forward Oklahoma Contraceptive Access Project, Advocacy Chair for the OB/GYN Interest Group, President of Medical Students for Choice (OUHSC), and Co-Author of "In Plain Sight: Normalizing Diverse Clinical Presentations in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Chrystyan Cross is a passionate advocate for PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and Endometriosis, an accomplished author, and the President of The Inkk Advocates Oklahoma City, which is a chapter of PERIOD. The Inkk Advocates has distributed over 1500 free menstrual products in the Oklahoma City Metro area. Chrys is also the founder and host of ThaMonthly Podcast, a groundbreaking initiative she launched in 2022 to amplify conversations surrounding reproductive health.

Annie Menz, the first Latina member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, is dedicated to advocating for her community's needs. With a background in legislative assistance and nonprofit work focusing on healthcare access, she is committed to protecting natural resources, improving public education, and expanding mental health care access for working families. Additionally, Representative Menz is recognized for her community engagement efforts, such as founding Hispanic Cultural Day at the State Capitol.

Dr. Rachel Franklin, MD, FAAFP, is a highly regarded family medicine physician in Oklahoma City with over 20 years of experience. Dr. Franklin serves as Associate Chief Executive of Care Delivery Models at OU Health, holds the title of Regents' Professor, and serves as Family Medicine Vice Chair at OUHSC. She is also a board member of OU Physicians and has received numerous accolades, including recognition from Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. and the OU Medicine Award for Outstanding Patient Service.
